The Victor Hasselblad Sea Turtle Research and Conservation Centre, located in Kosgoda, Sri Lanka, is dedicated to the protection and conservation of sea turtles. Established in 1978, the centre focuses on safeguarding five species of turtles through various activities such as hatchery tours, egg protection, and rehabilitation of injured turtles. Visitors can engage in educational tours and volunteer opportunities, contributing to the centre's mission of releasing millions of turtles into the wild. Open daily, the centre offers a unique chance to connect with nature and support vital conservation efforts.
Schedule for the Day
o Breakfast at the hotel
o Check-out at around 8:30 am to head to Kosgoda
o Visit the Victor Hasselblad Turtle Conservation Centre
o Mangroves boat ride on the Madu River Sanctuary
o Return to the pier (optional: restaurant facing the river for
lunch)

- Working moonstone mine, where the semiprecious
blue moonstones are mined.
